2022 Alumni Game Recap
On Friday, November 24th, 2022, the community of Floral Park, New York, came together for a fun-filled and heartwarming event—the 2022 Floral Park Lacrosse Alumni Games. The event, which celebrated the enduring legacy of local lacrosse, brought over 60 alumni players back to the field for a day of spirited competition, camaraderie, and connection. Whether they had suited up for Floral Park Memorial High School, Floral Park Youth Lacrosse, or The Other Guys Lacrosse Club (TOGS), the field was packed with former players who shared a love for the game—and for the town.
The game was not only about lacrosse but also a tribute to coaches Chris Deeks and Mary Jane Morra, beloved figures in the community, further enriching the day's festivities. The overcast skies and chilly air couldn’t dampen the spirits of those who came to play or simply catch up with old friends. On the contrary, the smiles were infectious as players of all ages reminisced about their past victories, their favorite plays, and the good times spent on the field.
Despite the cold temperatures, the action on the field was anything but cold! The game itself was filled with energy, showcasing the skill and passion that made Floral Park lacrosse a local institution. After the final whistle blew, everyone headed over to Fallon's, the watering hole of choice, to warm up with drinks, wings, and plenty of laughs. The postgame gathering was a true celebration of the bonds that lacrosse had built over the years.
